We're neighbors in Truckee's Ponderosa Palisades community working together to reduce wildfire risk. As an officially recognized Firewise USA community, we share fire-safety resources and host events to help neighbors prepare — because wildfire mitigation works best block by block, not just house by house.

Firewise USA recognition has to be renewed every year, and that renewal depends on residents doing the work: trimming trees, replacing vents, moving firewood 30+ ft away from your house. Please make sure to log how much time you spent on defensible space and/or home hardening this year. It's how we track our progress as a neighborhood, and it's what we point to when applying for grants that fund bigger projects like landscape-level fuel reduction work.
